Kola Kanda and Me

I have gained weight in the previous months while doing nothing at home. So I wanted to lose some. but I am too lazy to exercise. I was watching many exercise videos and reading the comments of successful weight loss stories lying in the bed when mum suggested to make kola kanda.

My mum knew that I was hating my arm fat which doesn't even have a thought of leaving me. So she told me that I can kolal kanda using mortar and pestle without using the blender. We have one made of stone in our place which belonged to our grandparents once. I usually don't use them because it is heavy and blender is easy.But this time, I willingly accepted her idea because I badly wanted to loss some of those fat but not doing any exercises.

First I thought that I would be hating the idea after a small time grinding the leaves. But surprisingly I liked that. When they were grinded into small pieces and gave juice, I was happy and satisfied thinking that I had done a good exercise for my arms and they will be slimmer. I hit the leaves while counting just like doing the exercise so it was so fun.

My mum had made kolak kanda in the next morning. I drank a lot of them willingly. I forgot to take a photograph. I didn't feel hunger for a long time after drinking that. So it reduces the rice intake of me. There is a saying we use when someone is acting lazy, we ask them whether they have drunk kola kanda. I don't know the meaning. But I felt refreshed and full after drinking that.

I told mum to make them again and I will do the grinding part. And she agreed. She told me that there are plenty of health benefits of drinking kola kanda.

This is how kola kanda helped me in several ways. If you haven't tried traditional mortar and pestle, try it. It is fun.
