plants do talk and communicate with each other, are they animals? no, they are not. some plants even communicate more than some animals. what are fungi? mushrooms are closer relatives to mammals than to plants, thats something to think about.

Also plants have a season and at the end of the season they are either harvested to be eaten or it dies naturally.
Animals don't just die at the end of a season, they continue to live until they either die like us humans or are slaughtered to be eaten.
I do feel that is a big point, that doesn't get used.
Like plants were designed as food and only lasts a season.
