I think I had mostly Sony, Verbatim and generic disks form my Commodore 64. As I recall, name brands like Sony and Verbatim were in the neighborhood of about $10/box ($1 per disk) while generic disks could be had for a fraction of that depending on how many you bought. In circa 1989 anyway...
About 10 years ago I transferred all my Commodore 64 disks to D64 images and they were all still readable then, name brand or generic. This Nashua disk is from 1985 and it still reads fine too (or did last year when I transferred it).
I remember using Nashua disks with my Commodore 64. They were the least expensive of all the brand names.
