The steemchurch, is the great idea for the church of these times, we have been engaged in the last years in improving the temple, infrastructure and maybe we have left behind the most important thing: the spiritual. Building the Church of the Lord. How can we do it?

In 1 Peter 2.5 we see some details of this project, which is a challenge for us today:

1. THE GOAL: a spiritual temple. Literally: spiritual house ("house" is often used to designate the temple: "my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations"). In particular it is used to emphasize the fact of the dwelling or habitation of God.
   But, in the New Testament, in this age in which we live, God does not need a material "house" (Acts 7:48). Now the dwelling place of God is THE CHURCH (1 Timothy 3:15, Ephesians 2:22). That physical, material sanctuary was temporary. It was destroyed, and its stones scattered (Mark 13: 1,2).
   Now what it is about is building a church, or becoming a church where God will live by his Spirit. This house or dwelling is not material, but spiritual. Its basis or foundation is Jesus Christ himself (v.4). It must be a holy dwelling (Ephesians 2: 20-22).
   Peter also calls here the church to be a "holy priesthood". And that we must be: a lineage of priests, in the sense of separate people for God, to intercede before him for our community, and to present him to our community. In this church we will offer spiritual sacrifices (not animal sacrifices), which will be acceptable to God, through Jesus Christ.

1. THE TASK: edify. "Be edified" or "edify" In any case, there remains the idea that those built will be ourselves. 1 Thessalonians 5.11 This task makes us think of: · Effort and dedication. Of each one personally, and of the whole church. It must be the priority purpose of everyone.
