To Serve Is a Gift
Although it may seem that serving is something that anyone can do if they want to, it is not so simple, and it is not a task that someone can do lightly and with a willing heart, service is also a gift and this biblical passage clearly explains it:
Romans 12
6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given unto us, whether prophecy, let us use them according to the proportion of faith;
7 Or whether of service, in serving; or he that teacheth, in teaching;
In verse 6 we can read that serving is also considered a gift, and it is completely true that not everyone can serve, because it is something that must be born from the heart, it is simply a gift given by God. To serve others we must love God first and love our neighbor as ourselves, and this can only be achieved through the love of God.
Serving will never be easy, especially when we live in a world where everyone wants to be served, the vast majority wants recognition and people to be at their disposal, but that is when we must remember the greatest example in the history of leadership, Jesus, who taught us what it means to love and serve. That is why the bible says that when we do something we should do it as for God, not thinking of receiving rewards from men, but thinking that the one who gives the best rewards, wise and eternal, is the one who will give us the reward.
Friend if you have the gift to serve, do not shy away thinking that they will say about you, what they will think, to serve is not demeaning or something that you should consider yourself inferior, look at how Jesus did it, to serve is an act of love where you invest your time, your life, which is the most valuable thing you can have here on earth, there is no money that can pay a great act of service with love, therefore God will give the reward to each one.
Let us encourage this gift that has been stamped on our society without realizing it, let us practice it, without fear, only with our eyes set on Jesus, who has been the greatest example for this, for love, for service, dedication and devotion. From now on, let us all think more like Him, let us do everything as if it were for Him, then serving will no longer be a sacrifice but a gift that flows from within us.
