Remembering that Christ Is The Rock

When we establish ourselves in Jesus we remember that without Him, we can not do anything in our life has to do with our decisions, our way of thinking, our future, without Him, we would be building on the sand, we can not see results. This type of behavior is a self-sufficient condition: to meet one's needs without the help of anyone.

But Matthew 7 verse 24 and 25 says:

Whoever therefore hears these words of mine, and does them, I will liken him to a prudent man, who built his house on the rock.

The rain descended, and the rivers came, and the winds blew, and beat against that house; and it did not fall, because it was founded on the rock.

But whoever hears these words of mine and does not do them, I will liken him to a foolish man who built his house on the sand;

What is a Rock?

It is a very hard, firm or stable thing or person, which is very safe and durable.

This represents the solid foundation, the word of God, to obey God, to follow the steps of Jesus, that your life affirms, decisions, is what gives firmness or stability.

The sand?
It means instability.

How to know that Christ is the Rock in your life?

When you talk about building the house on the rock. The house represents our life, where God gave us the abilities or abilities to be able to design it in the best way so as not to fail. If you are looking for something unique that can help you stay strong and stable in your life. You must leave behind those things that separate you from God and cause your foundations to move. There is a rock we can trust, Christ Is The Rock.

It depends on each one to determine how and where you can build, that is why the Lord makes reference to two types of people, the prudent and the foolish.

There were many people who had come to Jesus from many places, from Galilee, Decapolis, Jerusalem, from Judea and from the other side of the Jordan. Jesus was speaking to religious people but not unbelievers, they were followers. The disciples are those who make a firm commitment to follow Christ and to serve him. Those in the crowd are those who do not want to take a serious commitment to Jesus Christ.

Hear…
One of the most important senses of our body is the ear. With him we listen or pay attention to make a decision. The action of listening is voluntary and implies intention on the part of the person. That is why the Lord makes reference that if you hear there is a result, faith comes by hearing the Word of God.

Do…

It has to do with obedience. Jesus made it clear that hearing and knowing, understanding or reading are not enough

Hearing and doing go hand in hand. To hear you do not need to make effort, however, to listen you need to pay attention, it is an effort, and interest since you have the desire to understand the message you are receiving and in the same way give a coherent answer. The visible result that the recipient has managed to understand the message he has received is that he obeys and puts it into practice. Without leaving out that in this process of learning in life there are strong distracting agents of which it is of the utmost importance to evade them, or eliminate them.

Be like the prudent man ...

There are people whose religion is based on pure hearing, without walking further; Your thoughts are full of empty notions. These two types of listeners represent the two constructors. This parable teaches us to hear and obey the sayings of the Lord Jesus: some may seem hard for flesh and blood, but they must be done. Christ is the Rock, is laid as a foundation and everything else outside of Christ is sand.

Some build their hopes on the prosperity of the world; others, in an external profession of religion. On these they venture, but those are just sand, they are too weak to support a plot like our hopes of heaven. There are storms that come and will prove the work of every man.

The prudent person not only likes to hear biblical messages, they sing, but they also make the effort to study, pray, do not stop to congregate and seek to lead a life according to the word of God.

What does prudence mean?

It means temperance, caution, moderation, good sense, good judgment, is to discern and distinguish between good and bad to follow or flee.

James 1 verse 21 and 22 says:

But be doers of the word, and not just hearers, deceiving yourselves.

Where is the hypocrite's hope?

The house collapsed in the storm, when the builder needed it most, and he hoped it would be a refuge for him. He fell when it was too late to build another one. May the Lord make you wise builders for eternity. Then, nothing will separate us from the love of Jesus Christ. The crowds were amazed at the wisdom and power of what Christ teaches.

Build on solid base

When we trust in Christ, we find a strong rock on which to build. A rock that will not shake will break no matter what comes our way. David declared that God is his everything, he was standing on the rock where he understood that Christ Is The Rock, The words of Jesus is the fundamental rock on which this life can be built and for eternity. Psalm 62: 7 In God is my salvation and my glory; the rock of my fortress and my refuge is in God.

Put up with

When the house is based on something, there will always be events that try to make you stagger, in the arena to be incensed or imprudent, the house is going to car because it has no solid foundation, with any kind of problems the human being hesitates or it can fall and for a new rising the Holy Spirit has to work.

When rain or tempest falls to the earth, it really falls to everyone equally, so are the difficulties, when they reach a person, it does not stop, however when the person is clinging to his firm rock or has a good foundation, no it will deviate, it will not fall.
