I don't understand Steemit. How does it work?

The main thing to remember is to SAVE YOUR PASSWORD. Then save it again and print it just in case. You cannot recover your Steemit password, its like a bitcoin private key. There has been a wait list so I suggest signing up https://steemit.com. Once you are able to login and use the site, you want to upvote a minimum of 20 posts every 24 hours. This will get you curation rewards. Try to like a post first, and like posts by users with a high reputation (60+) because their posts are likely to earn more. The curation rewards you earn will come in the form of SBD and STEEM POWER which is your inVESTed Steem. You power it up to lock it in to the Steemit system. If you want to power down, it takes three days. Dont power down, the more Steem power you have, the more rewards you can earn. The second way is to Author great content and get it upvoted by whales, users with lots of reputation. It will start off slow at first, but eventually as you get your Steem Power up you will earn more. If you are feeling like what you share goes unappreciated on social media, try posting it on Steemit where it will be permanently recorded in the Steemit Coin Blockchain ledger, and you can actually earn Change for getting upvotes. Once you figure it out then it will be easy because you are already doing these things on social media!
