A Sacred Forest In Chile

After a brief rest at the first lake we then decided to get on our way and take the route to the second lake.

The snow was now much deeper and we started to notice signs of the wild boar that live in the forests around here. Some of the locals here will hunt these animals, as they can be quite aggressive animals. The signs of these animals can be quite easy to spot - disturbted snow from them digging and sniffing in the undergrowth.

It is prohibited to start fires inside the park, even in winter

We were following the signs for huinfuca through the forest littered with huge monkey puzzle trees. Despite the snow the sky was blue without a cloud in the sky. It was quite warm in the sunshine too.

It was quite a new experience for me trekking through the snow. For followers of my blogs you'll have seen how many walks I've been on - but this was the first time in this climate!
