The Monticello Dam is located in Napa County, in the state of California (USA). The dam was built between 1953 and 1957, and has a total of 249,900 cubic meters of cement. The sinkhole is about 200 meters long, where the water passing the level where it would start to be dangerous, is swallowed by the hole and passes to the outside through the dam.

Horns Rev is the first wind park located on the sea. Horns rev is located in the eastern part of the North Sea, about 10 km off the coast of Denmark. In total, 80 mills of 2 MW were put into operation as of 2002. The wind farm provides energy for 150,500 homes.

Strépy-Thieu lift: The Strépy-Thieu lift, located in Belgium, with a height of 73m is the tallest boat lift in the world. The lift works with 4 electric motors, which are capable of lifting a boat in in 7 minutes. The construction finished in 2002, cost around 160 € million and has an approximate weight of 200,000 tons of weight.
