Peso is the official currency in the Philippines. This peso is divided into 100 centavo (Filipino: sentimo,: sentabo) Prior to 1967, the language used on paper money and coins was English, and so .. "peso" was the name used. When the language used is converted to Cebuano, it changes to "piso". peso currency is usually denoted by the symbol "P"
