being too much in your head
Helping people on a daily basis i come across a lot of people who are too much in their head.
What does it actually mean and what kind of problems are associated with it and how can you release yourself from this?
This is a topic i know perfectly well because i had been too much in my head a good portion of my life. It was only when i followed Moojis videos for one whole year watching all his videos that i understood that i was just completely caught in my thoughts not letting life or the universe unfold by itself.
There is a saying which says “life is what happens to you while you are busy making plans”. This essentially says everything about what you should be doing. Not worry about anything instead let life just happen. Most of us cannot do it because we are so afraid of the consequences and we think that strategizing, planning, executing, worrying, thinking about the future, thinking about every detail gives us some amount of certainty in life. But the reality is, it doesn’t.
So how can you go through life without any kind of thinking? First you must realize that you are consciousness and not your body, mind or thoughts. Because that’s the only way to recognize that you cannot be harmed in any way. When you cannot be harmed you lose fear of being harmed. When you lose fear of being harmed you are free to do whatever you please.
One exercise i love to do with people who are too much in their head is that they put their right hand on the heart chakra and they close their eyes and concentrate on the heart energy. Then they find something in their heart which they want from their heart 100%. Where there is no doubt that they want this. This simple exercise changes the focus from the head to the heart. Most people who are too much in their head answer to quickly or take the first answer that comes up for the real answer. Its mostly a head based answer. Example: “I want to find xx job”. but this is not deep and heart based enough. Look closer into your heart energy and give yourself time…
Life has a way to work out things without needing your effort. Not only that but when you let truly go the universe gives you exactly what you need at the right moment. When you stop interpreting what is happening and just letting it happen to you or for you then a while later you realize this is exactly what needed to happen. Sometimes, when something bad happens in our lifes we try to avoid it. The “Fire of Transformation” as i call it is the ability to stay as the observer without interpretation in even the most difficult situations. Instead of reacting to your emotions or thoughts or your body you keep observing. The more difficult the situation is to observe the more its better to just observe because if you manage to observe the most difficult thing then and only then you can be truly free from the confines of your emotions and mind.
One of the most successful business men of our lifetime was Steve Jobs. He was notorious for following his feelings about things not for over-strategizing and planning. When you work with what feels right rather then what you should be doing or think you need to be doing then everything will unfold in just the right way. Not the perfect way according to your head but the perfect way according to the universe.
People who are in their head lost the confidence that the universe is essentially working in their favor even if they do not do anything. The mind has tons of arguments why it should do something but the fact is that when you use your head it goes wrong or its getting ahead much more difficult then if you wouldn’t
Have you ever done something and didn’t feel like it? pushed yourself to finish it but it was just a drag and the result wasn’t even that good. But if you let it be and come back to it when life wants you to it just flows the result is amazing and it was done in half the time or less. This is the power of letting the universe decide for you.
People who are too much in their head are easy to recognize and you can recognize it on yourself as well: they talk too much. Instead of truly listening they feel the need to immediately talk or respond without digesting what is being said or just observing what is going on. The idea here is to learn to be in stillness. In stillness in your mind and stillness in your actions.. observe. When the need to move or think comes up let it just pass and keep observing
Sit still… let the universe decide your next move instead of you making the decisions.. you will be surprised…
