War Cries

Hello lovely steemians, good to see again, yeah.... I know its been less than 24 hours, but still its a long time. Hope you doing fine, well I need not ask we all doing fine. But we might not be for long, there's so much war going on around us, but we keep doing nothing. Well here's something to help us challenge ourselves to stop all the war or at least to sensitize us.

When are we going to end the war;
For how long shall the heartaches and miseries be ignored;
What can be the justifiable reason;
For us not to know peace in any season;

When shall we leave all these fights behind;
An eye for an eye! The world would eventually go blind;
Till when do we have to watch the bodies of our young men lay;
Lifeless, with no sunshine, as their color turns grey;

If only they had more time;
Am sure they would have wanted to say goodbye;
I wish I can give them a minute or two;
But I can't even hold them, for their faces are now blue;

I still don't understand the essence of this madness;
That brings to us only sadness;
They say we fight for peace;
But even after the war, our heart knows no peace;

The killings and bloodshed are memories still clear;
We still feel that the war might take someone we hold dear;
We don't sleep at night, living daily with this fear;
Will the war ever end?
Or will it continually bring tears.

I hope this stirs up something in us to stop the war.
