The three D's (Decision Determines Destiny)

Hello lovely steemians, ever heard of the three D's? Well I'm about to tell you about it, but grab a bible, its about to get churchy.

The decision a man makes determines his life here on earth and in eternity.

The book of Ruth begins with a decision Ruth 1:1-22
The head of a family Elimelek, took a decision which affected his life, his wife, his sons (Mahlon and Kilion) and his two daughters-in-law. The decision led them to a strange land called Moab. Famine, hunger, confusion are brought about by disobedience. In Judges 21:25 in those days there was no King in Isreal, every man did that which was right in his own eyes. It is a period of confusion and lawlessness. If there's anything that turns a miracle to a mountain of problem of difficulty, it's confusion and lawlessness. The same thing that turns a land of promise into a land of poverty. There was no direction, no control and no obedience to the purpose, plan and will of God.

Elimelek family had the privilege of living in Bethlehem which was even more fruitful than any part of Israel, Bethlehem means House of bread. But the sin of the people made the house of bread experience famine. Elimelek decided to take a step, he decided to leave Bethlehem. The decision of Elimelek was without excuse. He was impatient and ungrateful to the Lord. He was disconnected, dissatisfied with his lot in the land, he left the land of the Lord. He forsook the place of true worship. He neglected the place of Divine privileges. He abandoned a place of Revelations.

Without prayers and counseling, without the Lord leading he moved into Moab, into a curse of God. Isaiah 30:1 Many people keep their decisions away from people who can counsel them. Nobody is an island of knowledge, you should learn to seek advice from someone.

After the family had suffered the evil consequence of the wrong decision to move, Naomi decided to return to Bethlehem. In the course of time, Naomi's two daughters-in-law, Ruth and Orpah, needed to make their own decisions, whether to return with their Mother-in-law to Bethlehem or not. Orpah made a wrong decision that made her to be forgotten. Her decision blotted her future life, name and posterity from the record of God's people. Her decision closed the gate of heaven against her.

But Ruth made a decision that brought her name as one of the titles in the Bible. She entered into a catalogue of unforgettable people. She appeared in the Old testament, New testament and in Heaven. Always make a prayerful decision because Decision Determines Destiny.

Decision is like a chain. One wrong decision always leads to another. And it will take the special grace, the supernatural power of God and a strong will power (which I will tell you about in my future post) to break the looming chain and set the victim free. Beware of wrong decision, no matter how little it is.

God knows the importance of making a right decision that's why Proverbs 3:5-6 in all you do, let God be your guide.
