My Stoneage Tool Collection
I have always been fascinated by old things. Some people just ignore them and walk by them but for me when I see something old it peaks my curiousity. I want to know the story that allowed it to survive to this day. In this photo is one item which was passed down to me by my great grandfather. He found this stoneage ax shaft on a field while plowing.
I think it’s made of flint and the condition is still quite good because the blade is still sharp.
I don’t know the monetary value of this piece but it doesn’t really matter because it’s the historic value and the fact that it’s been in the family for so long that means something to me.
I also have a knife which is in a very good condition, probably much similar to how it looked thousands of years ago when it was being used.
I am less sure what stone this is made of but it seems like a good choice of material to make a knife.
I love collecting crypto coins, but it’s something about physical objects that make them special. Though my collection is only made up of two objects today I’m hoping to add more soon .
How about you do you collect any old items ?
I excited when my daughter found an arrowhead in our garden. Your axe and knife are far more impressive.
An arrow head is really cool as well, I would love to have one :)
You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:
It should be curiosity instead of curiousity. The first stone tool looks as if the old Bond nemesis Jaws had taken a bite or two of it.
the old goods it contains historical value that we should save, I also love collecting relics of the past because the item has a good story
@dandesign86 Family heirlooms have great sentimental value because behind them there is a story that we identify with, even more so if it allows us to remember about our family's history. Belonging this object to a great loved one makes us appreciate with all our heart... It is good to see interesting pieces....
