Growth vs death

in #life8 years ago (edited)

In life, if it isn't growing it's dying. All organisms work the same way.

A human body as determined by the laws of physics requires between 800-2000 calories a day just to live.

People want to reproduce, they want to either grow more people, or individuals want to grow stronger, either way this is growth. This growth requires resources whether you have capitalism or not.

I'm dedicated to personal growth. Personal growth can mean a lot of things but primarily it means evolving as a person and improving over time.

Growth requires resources and all entities which pursue growth must consume resources to fuel that growth.

Not all growth is positive. There is the possibility that an individual, organization, organism, can be growing in a way which is long term harmful to themselves. This means there has to be a curation process which takes place, a sort of method of renewal, self deconstruction, total evaluation of self.

This deep introspection is part of the curation process where a person can ask themselves "who am I?" "what am I becoming?" "who do I want to become?".

It is possible that anyone can change over time if in the period of evaluation they find that they do not like their own evolutionary trajectory.

A business, product, or anything which can live adapts to it's environment. This adaptation requires both calibration which is the result of self evaluation and then focused growth. A plant will grow toward the light out of efficiency while mold will grow when there is enough moisture in the environment. Human beings are thinkers and must process a lot of information in order to determine exactly what changes to make.

You are absolutely right life is the name of growing if you stopped that means you are near to death. Personal growth playing a vital role in growth of someone's life that has a power to change.

Example which you are quoted are clearly showed the difference. Brilliant Post

Growth is a product of meaning. Without meaning there is only stagnation. Often stagnation leads do destruction.

well said. Life is the name of moment. if you stop you will be in trouble. Just like if the heart stops you get cardiac arrest. Personal growth is necessary to live quality live. All inventions of life occurred in the same way. so keep growing and sharing nice thoughts. All the best @dana-edwards

I am in the "Fer Sher" camp on this one, stagnation is the first symptom of regression and death. In my business, I try to explain to affiliates that they must press forward with new members and clients as the old rarely stay long. Growth is the natural way of nature and man, however it is being programmed out of people. Capturing new clients, is far easier than working twice as hard to keep the average ones.

That said, it is like a search for the proverbial needle in a haystack to find that perpetual growth mentality... for the long term.

Not to mention the mental, spiritual, and emotional growth we all go through. How to explain them is more challenging, I've had mental growth where I learn something and it becomes conditioned only to come back later and deconstruct that thought or belief. And spiritual growth seems to be more like a release of control, then we just grow because that's our nature.

It's pretty interesting how we grow up then slowly wither away, everyone knows it will happen, it's natural, yet we fear it so much. We're afraid of growing old because we'll get weaker and less able, yet we throw ourselves at our work and leisure and let our bodies wither when we're young too!

If we don’t keep evolving or growing we could could get stuck in our own development and this could become a trap which could be difficult to get out.

Always moving and improving is the best way to keep us away from mediocrity and failure.

Being proactive is one of the first qualities we should adopt if we want to reach our goals.
