Autumn climbing Syurenata and an unplanned hike to the Aksagata’s wall, Tashkent region, Uzbekistan
Hello, today I would like to tell you about the autumn campaign to Surenate, which took place in mid-November. After returning from Yuzuruk I toiled with idleness and wanted to get out somewhere ... But there were no any interesting tours – just some easy walks. And so "Mysterious Uzbekistan" published the announcement of the hiking to Syurenata. Well, it was better than nothing, - I thought a little bit and signed up for a hike. I was already here in winter and in spring, and in the fall I went. Now it remains to go here in the summer.
So, the collection was scheduled for 6 o'clock in the morning, but we left with a slight delay. Fortunately for me, it dawns later in the fall and I managed to catch the sunrise on the road. When we almost drove up to Syurenata, the sun painted the clouds in a delicate pink color.
According to the weather forecast, this day was expected to be warm and clear, but from the next day in Uzbekistan, a cold snap and rain were expected. It was felt - the sky was covered with a translucent haze.
I hoped that the haze would turn into clouds and they would thicken by the time we get to the top and spread like a thick carpet at the foot of the Syurenata, allowing me to take some cool photos. But, alas, by the time of the ascent to the summit, the haze had practically dissipated.
Although, I still managed to make a couple of mysterious photos ...
Somewhere around half past seven in the morning we arrived at the starting point of the hike. We went through a short briefing and went along the path. The sun gradually rose higher and higher, driving away the fog and opening the sky.
At 10 a.m. we were already at the top of Syurenata. The hike is essentially over. Almost three hours ahead of schedule. Nobody expected that we would be able to get up so briskly.
We settled down at the top of Syurenata, got out thermoses with tea and began to discuss such a quick hike. At the suggestion of the guide, it was decided to supplement the hike with a visit to the Aksagata’s wall. Initially, this was not in the tour program - but who is to blame that we decided to be the sky-runners?
While part of the group was drinking tea and having a snack, I began to wander along the top and came across scraps of money. Apparently someone, imitating Pablo Escobar, made a fire using money as kindling.
And so, having decided on the continuation of the tour, we began to descend.
Soon enough, the triangular summit of Syurenata was far behind. Well, we continued our descent.
Going down to the road, we decided to have a full lunch. After about an hour we went to the Aksagata’s wall.
A couple of years ago, I walked around these neighborhoods and even published post. It contains a photograph of a hefty, withered tree sticking out of the ground. Alas, this is what is left of it ...
We went down almost to the village of Shuldak. I've been here three or four times already and saw this wall from a variety of angles and in a wide variety of weather conditions, so I just enjoyed the scenery and the weather. But the other tourists were impressed by the wall and they were photographed from various views.
After taking enough pictures, we went back upstairs to the bus.

It began to get colder. In addition, during the climb, I sweated a lot, so I had to change into dry clothes.
We went out onto the road and went to the waiting minibus. Under the watchful eye of the driver, we cleaned our clothes and shoes, and only after that we were allowed to enter inside the bus.
As we drove, the sun barely broke through the clouds that covered the sky. It started raining the next day, and a few more days later the first snow fell.
I thought it was winter, but no. Soon it became warmer again. Moreover, this week the temperature is expected to be +22 degrees Celsius, which is 8-11 degrees higher than the average annual rate.
"Mysterious Uzbekistan" went on vacation until January 2022. So, now I can get to the mountains only if they organize closed hikes for the "elite", or as part of some other group. Or I can go in the city-tours – this option allowed for all the year-round.
