Contest Alert! Favorite Tourist Spots || MEEMURE - The treasury village hiding among the nature

Life is a combination of good and sad memories. Sometimes, it can be challenging, it may hit you hard. But you just have to hang up tight. Because always better days are waiting for you all. So, just enjoy life as much as possible. Have a good hobby that calms your mind. Traveling is such a thing that helps to release your burdens aside.

In Sri Lanka, there are a number of tourist destinations. I am lucky to be born here to witness all those heavenly creations. Out of all my travel the three-day vacation I went to 'Meemure', is unforgettable. I can go there over and over without getting enough of this glamorous village. As I can remember it was 2017, and 13 of us join the party. More the gang, more the fun there.

It was a journey to the middle of the island/ hill country. And you should always hire a travel guide if it's your first time. And it's easy when camping, doing water sports, hiking, etc. You can just browse that from the internet.

Sembuwaththa Lake

On the way, you should definitely visit Sembuwatta lake. It's filled with natural scenery. A small fee will be charged to enter the location. It's located in the Matale District, near Campbell's Lane Forest Reserve. A man-made lake with the forest around gives that heavenly look as you can see in the pictures. You can enjoy cable rides, boat rides, swimming, etc, there.

Meemure

What is this much excitement in Meemure? Well, it's a village with less than 400 people located near the border between Kandy District and Matale District in the Knuckles Mountain Range. Technology has barely come here. Therefore ancient Sri Lankan practices, rare plants, and animals have been protected still. Even finding a telephone connection is very hard, apart from CDMA line in some locations. So, you can totally get lost from society for sometimes and find yourself here.

This area may be underdeveloped. But from the pictures, you can see that it's rich in its own ways. What do you want to do here? Enjoy nature? Hike? swimming/engaging in water sports? explore nature? camping? Well, this is a complete package of all those things for free.

It has a very beautiful landscape, mountains, springs, rivers, waterfalls, paddy fields, etc. Lakegala mountain which is an icon there has a mysterious history way back from Ravan times.

And what about the people? Just innocent souls. It's very exciting to hear their mysterious experience and ancient stories from them. They are living their lives to the fullest. At one time you will feel that's the only thing you have ever wanted.

Sharing Wisdom

Meemure camping

You can do camping there. All the facilities are available reasonable price. But you should remember to bring materials for food and other things. The nightlife there is fun. Without minimum disturbance, you can make a BBQ and have some drinks with music near the bonfire.

Water Sports

Here comes the adventurous part. You should not miss this. This place is made for this. In the Sri Lankan famous movie, Suriya Arana those kids used to play in this location. You can swim or bathe in natural streams.

And jumping from different heights, and stream sliding is also very memorable experiences. Remember to take all the necessary safety precautions. That's why a tour guide is very important. Below is a video. Man, this is so much fun!

So, I think I painted the picture for you. This is one of my favorite places to go again and again. It totally heals my mind. Just remembering it also make me on another level.
