Growing Malabar spinach or Asian spinach for the first time and I love it.

Growing Malabar spinach or Asian spinach for the first time and I love it. The seeds took a very long time to germinate, like a couple of weeks and longer for some. I soaked the seeds for a few hours and then kept them between a couple of wet paper towels. Once they did finally start to sprout I transplanted them to small pots. It grew very slowly until it reached a certain size and then it seemed to take off. I just transplanted the one in the pictures into a larger pot. I am hoping to try growing it inside through the winter. I also have some in the garden. I like it even better than regular spinach. It tastes much like spinach but the leaves are plump and juicy. Great in a salad, stir fry or a soup. The one I have is the red stem variety but there is a green variety also. It is high in vitamin A and C and the minerals iron and calcium. It also high in protein per calorie. You can start it easily from cuttings. It loves the heat and tolerates it very hot. Likes full sun.

Thank you @goldendawn! If you are in the U.S. the Hart's seed company has seed for them. If you can fin someone to get a cutting it would be much faster. Happy gardening!

So awesome!! We had seed from 2-3 years ago and only one plant came up.....but also....planted in wood mulch, so I think maybe a couple seeds didnt get enough sun.
