Scenes From the Farm This Morning
We are expecting some very cold temperatures starting tomorrow. I thought I'd take some photos of the farm this morning before the deep freeze! LOL
Maggie and Tao were anxious to see me this morning. They thought I had food! Actually everybody was anxious to see me for the same reason.
The cats up by the front porch were the first to receive their morning rations. They get their fill before I let the chickens out or else the hungry hens will come eat it all!
These girls have to be the first in at night and the last out in the morning. They will run around and eat everyone's food if that is not the case.
The 3 hives are still alive, but not active on these cold days. When I put my ear to the hive and give them a tap tap tap on the sidewall I can hear them buzzing around, but they will mostly stay put to keep warm.
The ducks are the loudest and the messiest creatures here! Yet... we love them.
The Daddykirbs Garden is going to freeze. I just know it. I will attempt to cover a few things and some were moved into the greenhouse, but some will be lost too. This is just the reality of Winter.
"Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him..." Psalm 37:7
Beautiful little farm. Love it! It was so cold here in Ontario I had to blanket my miniature horse. I know the topic is controversial but I couldn't stand to see him out in -32 and -44 with the windchill!
Haha! Our chickens are the same way! I have to feed the cats first and give them time to finish up or those bullies will hog it all! Same with the goats... Darn chickens...
Nice post!
Very good horse beautiful :)
LOVE how they all stand at attention waiting to eat!!
Quite the "motley crew" you have there!
... and I didn't even bother trying to get pics of the big ducks, tortoises, goats and all the baby chicks! LOL
That can be Part 2 next weekend!! Gotta get 'em all in there. Can't show favoritism! lol
What a beautiful and heartwarming post. Your animals look loved and cared for. Thank you so much for showing us a wonderful side of this life.
Would LOVE to have horses someday. Such majestic creatures. My 8 year old son really wants a horse too... Right now we have our hands full with the sheep and goats though! Fun post- Following!
Beautiful garden. I would love to have something like this someday
wow. nice content and wonderful photos.
What a great morning! I like your bee set up. It looks very solid. Any issues with ants?
In the old apiary I did sometimes have ants. This is all new here so we'll see. I'm sure the ants will come.
Nice! We had bees when we started our homestead and they all got destroyed. It is definately a future goal!
I like horses and I have one 😍
