My Thoughts on the CP3 Trade
My first thought was that the Rockets don't really need CP3 too badly because of how well Harden played the point guard spot.

But I will admit CP3 is an exception. He is a special player, probably the only player that I would be ok with to move Harden back to shooting guard. With an elite floor general Harden could score and score and the whole team gets better. Basically I knocked sense into myself.
The Rockets also still have Eric Gordon. He is no scrub.
I can't imagine a scenario where CP3 doesn't improve a team. Even though the Rockets won a lot of games last year I fully expect that team to get better. CP3 adds flavor to any team I can't see him ever burning one. He is that good. If I were a Rockets fan I would be smirking at GSW.
A part of me wonders if he should have went to San Antonio. That team would have been deadly as well.
Interesting NBA off-season! I can't wait until free agency. I wonder where the next star will go?
great post, dadapizza as usual!
Thanks!!
I would have liked it more if Harden had been paired with a good forward or center. I'm not sure two guards, even if they are good, can carry a team past the Warriors, or even the Spurs.
CP3 is a pure proto typical point guard. Like a QB on the court. Been doing this longer than the entire warriors roster. Harden just was a 3 seed with no super star help. I think that team will be fine.
I was thinking the same thing when I first heard about the trade. Harden had an MVP worthy regular season playing the point, but the playoffs showed me that a one man team isn't going to work in the long term. Now if the Rockets can add one or two more all-star pieces in addition to Chris Paul, they can really start to make the Warriors sweat.
I seriously believe that too! Harden has proved to me he is legit. He has grown a lot since his first season in Houston. Add Chris Paul and I think it could be better than people think. Yes another all star guy somehow and they could be in Business. I really like Eric Gordon as well.
