Mattepainting

This Matte painting is based in a photograph that I took when I was sailling on the boat trough the arms of the Amacayacu river in the south of Colombia. I edited the photo and them I drew some lines on the background image. To gave an nocturnal atmosphere I chose several kinds of brushes to apply on them in different layers. Also, I added some textures on the narrow trunks of the trees. I painted fog on the scene and improved the lights and shadows . To the end of the process, the photograph of the beginning had been covered almost in its entirety.
