Is Bitcoin's Scaling Effort Having An Effect?
When we look at the size of Bitcoin's mempool, we can see that it has been on its lowest level in years. This can partially be explained by lower amounts of transactions being made on the Bitcoin Network, but I think the recent scaling efforts might be contributing.

Some contributing factors to to relatively low size of the mempool could be that there has been a steady increase in segwit adoption. The segwit percentage charts do seem to indicate that adoption is rising, I'll expect it to go above 10% in the very near future.

Coinbase has plans to fully roll out segwit support very soon, they have now partially enabled segwit. Bitfinex also fully supports segwit for Bitcoin transactions. Hopefully more exchanges will follow soon. It might also be important to note that Coinbase had also previously announced that they would be doing batch transactions. I haven't seen an update on that news though.
