Word of the day “Words” - Destroying The English Language One Joke At A Time
Do you like to use different words and their meanings to twist what you’re actually saying into something completely different? I tend to do it all the time at work but my coworkers conside it just breaking down the English language one joke at a time! Quite a few of my coworkers are not native English speakers for the most part the jokes just go right over their head, they just look at me like I’m crazy.
I still wonder why it is that some people take offense, one of my coworkers is an English major and he actually finds it hilarious. Those that take offence often are the ones that don’t get the point of the joke until they think about it further. Sometimes I have to go into great length to actually explain how and why I consider it funny so if they don’t get it on the first pass I just don’t bother.
The English language is the biggest joke portrayed through words itself. Most of the vocabulary with in the English language comes from other languages with meanings referred to the original meaning from the original language. Many of the undefined meanings are lost in translation I often think about Spanish and how it has multiple ways of saying I love you based on whom you’re actually speaking to.
One of the biggest jokes of the English language comes to play with spelling. Words having a single spelling with multiple pronunciations and multiple meanings to go with it. On top of that there is just pronunciation being the same but only the spelling is different.
The English language is a funny thing I don’t understand why people would take offence to making a joke of it when it is the biggest joke of a language that could be.

Sometimes we dont get a joke we untry to make a jok because we are not good at English. Anyway, are u navite english speakern where do live? Im learning english for almost 7 years. But, im not getting any better

Only language I speak, I am a Canadian thru and thru.... english is a tough language to understand the nuances if you first learn another language keep at it you’ll get there eventually!

When I was in junior high school. I learn arabic, jepanesse and English but none of them. i master. Than go to university I choice Engliah department. As u can see a lot of mistake i make. Hehe

I am the one who is not good in English lol 😂 but I try my best to understand at least communicate with the team at work but many time I didn’t get when they play a joke lol 😂 poor me .. but I am learning everyday 🤗
One more thing, Dtube VDO that I try to make in everyday is also help me to improve too ... awesome platform.
Just remember even if they’re playing a joke on you they are trying to joke with you and don’t take offense.

About the VDO, I still remembered my feeling in the very first time I made a VDO and have to talk in English .. honestly I was so nervous but now that feeling changed to be more enjoyable .. I feel really lucky that I decided to start to make the VDO on Dtube.
