Word of the day “Expense” - Budget Vacation
We had planned on staying at Mel’s mothers house but she had someone staying there and this was our only option still available, it was 10:30 PM before we even thought about it. I guess Fern, Mel’s mother, forgot we planned on stopping in and allowed someone else to use her place while she is on the mainland. It’s alright we found an inexpensive option which allows dogs. Our room was simple but decent, not sure if it is one of the renovated as the sink showed signs of wear but it wasn’t bad for the price. Harbour House when fully renovated looks like it will be a very decent place to stay close to the water front.
This is our first major expense besides the GoPro which I am not counting in the travel expenses. Total price for a room and breakfast was $148, breakfast was decent waiter extremely polite. Other expenses have been my floating handle and tube $80, gas 2 tanks $80, pizza last night for whole family $100, random snack and road food&drinks $100, new vape head $50 and we gave Dave $40 for staying there for the week. Total $600ish total vacation expenses to date for 2 weeks of fun.
We were given the whale tour as a gift from Chelsea and Forest, then the first few days we hung around the house then traveled. We stayed at Mel’s father’s house for a week and he fed us pretty well. So this is the first night we have had to pay for staying anywhere, pretty good if you ask me. All our activities are outdoor and cost next to nothing but time and effort, I’d prefer to be checking out what is around us rather consistently spend money to do activities.
Today is another example of that having spent the whole day chilling with the kids at Drummond Park. Of course there was no reception down that way so this post is plenty delayed!
