Almost hitting snooze [Day 43]

Almost hitting snooze

coming into the world
of cracked harmonics:

radiator clank
above an ocean of automobiles
atop the inner ear's symphony.

morning is a half-lipped smile
broadcasting content resignation,
half-lidded eyes threatening
to fall back through hot springs
into roiling currents of dream.

land of impossible harmonics,
hills are voices, without temperature;
vehicles are silent, sleepless.

the whole body of dream-thought
is an exuberant inner symphony
that never finishes playing.

Notes

Bit of a short contemplation, here, of the discordant physical world as it compares to the harmonic world of dream. Actually conceived of/wrote most of the lines while laying in bed meditating, something I'd like to practice more (writing mentally before penning physically.) Also, for this piece it felt somehow right to use no capital letters, which I've never done before. Underlying this poem is the fascination I feel knowing that with perfect vision, this whole reality is beautiful geometries of space and sound, which, however, to the sense organs come off as a wide variety of consonance and dissonance.

Daniel, I think that you managed to express this precondition of being half-awake, just thanks to your mental-writing tool, that's the secret of the vivid impression of this condition. I bet, if you were writing it sitting in front of the screen, you wouldn't have come up with all the sharp images such as the pyramide of

radiator clank
above an ocean of automobiles
atop the inner ear's symphony.

The inner ear's symphony is usually buried under all the layers of sources of interference.
I don't like reading notes, it collapses the puzzles, I prefer making them myself piece by peice starting from the edge ones, that are the easiest)

I love your way of using almost an oxymoron (vehicles are silent), to strengthen the subjective perception of the world of dream. I felt it too!

Hi @d-pend
This is great poetry. I love it "morning is a half-lipped smile
broadcasting content resignation,
half-lidded eyes threatening
to fall back through hot springs
into roiling currents of dream"

Great poem @d-pend. Your poetry is always unique.

Thank you @munawar1235, have a great day! Keep up the quality articles :-D

Thank you @d-pend. Your support always inspires me.

It's interesting how some parts of a poem stand out to me like this does:

half-lidded eyes threatening
to fall back through hot springs
into roiling currents of dream.

kind of reminds me of those movies where a person lays down in bed and ends up falling into another dimension. Or when you're asleep and the body jerks causing you to momentarily feel like the bed is swallowing them. Anybody ever have that happen?

The images you post along with your work seem to add to my experience reading every morning. The images speak of post-apocalyptic decay (societal market correction?) which is maybe what your dreams/meditation produce when your mind is waking up?

Great stuff once again.

Thanks for sharing @d-pend. I miss these kinds of reflective poems.

I think the only way to resolve the consonance and dissonance tension in this poem is to throw the alarm clock out the window.

I never tried writing a poem in my head. I always need my pen's help. :P
As usual, great poem. :)

I haven't done it too much, but one time it spontaneously started happening while I was meditating, and I wrote a piece called "Between, I Am." I also wrote an article describing the process. Here's the link, if you are interested: https://steemit.com/writing/@d-pend/mental-writing-can-improve-your-work. Have a great day @abhinavmendhe! Thanks for stopping by.

I meditate too. Have you heard of Osho? I follow him. I have tried almost all of his meditation techniques and some of them work for me. Thanks for sharing the article links with me. I will read them and try doing the same. You too have a great day. :)

Not if you tell if it is a good poem, I am not an expert in the matter... but make every word that joins with others and they go in the same way, to make a reading something really pleasurable is an incredible job, for me is excellent:)

It seems to me when the verses are in your head, they have to be immediately transferred to paper, otherwise it can slip away. I liked the verse, it's unusual.

Your oxymoron is amazing, makes feel like my poems are shenanigans hahah, great poem @d-pend
