Welcome to my 7 World’s Continents Photo Challenge - African Wednesday - where the winner of the weekly round will be able to participate for the total of 200 SBD! Today, you can participate by submitting your personal pictures from your travels to the continent of Africa.

The afternoon sun strikes the Chyulu Hills in Tsavo West, Kenya. A land scape that is usually dry and grey has once again been transformed into lush green by the arrival of the rains.

Your entries need to be submitted by 8 AM Central European Time in order to be considered for the challenge with a description of approximately 30 to 50 words. Only use of personal images will be accepted and only one picture can be submitted for a daily photo challenge. Ten winning photos will receive a bigger upvote from me and ten runners-up will get a smaller one.
Chosen from the ten winning entries, the absolute winner of the day will receive extended publicity in my post tomorrow morning. I will also visit his/her blog to upvote one of the most recent posts. The winning picture of the daily challenge will then automatically enter other rounds with the absolute winner gaining approximately 200 SBD in total.

When I was travelling through Australia I spent two days on the Great Ocean Road. The weather was quite grey and I didn't get good light for the first day and a half. And also the last evening didn't look different. I still went down to the Gibson Steps and waited. This light was the reward.

This is a panorama of sunset on the beach "Gampong Jawa" Aceh Indonesia. Different beaches at the "Banda aceh" edge area are also the lane of the ship that passes into the "Sabang" area Every day many ships pass through these oceans. This beach is also more and more visited by residents of "banda Aceh" and its surroundings because of its beauty and cleanliness.

Deadvlei, Namibia
Deadvlei was once under water. It’s believed that roughly one thousand years ago, the Tsauchab River flooded, creating shallow pools with a clay pan underneath. In the shallow lake formed by the flooding, acacia trees flourished. But approximately two hundred years later, the climate changed. The area became dry and drought-stricken, and the massive dunes cut the area off from the river.

The Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, also known as the Djeser-Djeseru ("Holy of Holies"), is an ancient funerary shrine in Upper Egypt. Built for the Eighteenth dynasty Pharaoh Hatshepsut, it is located beneath the cliffs at Deir el Bahari, on the west bank of the Nile near the Valley of the Kings. The mortuary temple is dedicated to the sun deity Amun and is situated next to the mortuary temple of Mentuhotep II, which served both as an inspiration, and later, a quarry. It is considered one of the "incomparable monuments of ancient Egypt.
On most photes you can see usual front view of the temple, but this time here is the right corner of it with nice almost vertical mountains at background. That makes the view almost epic ;)

Photography of a Spice Plantation worker, on the "coconut station" - he was signing a song during the ascent and then brought a coconut down to sell it to us ( as it was not included in the ticket price). Plantation was positioned in the middle of Zanzibar !

View on Ait-Ben-Haddou, Morocco
The ancient mud-brick town Ait-Ben-Haddou in Morocco's Atlas mountains never fails to impress. While the mud-brick houses have a "natural air-conditioning" built in, as a Moroccan guy told me, most people prefer to live in the nearby village nowadays, but four families still live in the mud-brick houses.

Protea is both the botanical name and the English common name of a genus of South African flowering plants, sometimes also called sugarbushes or Fynbos. In local tradition, the Protea flower represents change and hope."

Before the Rain, Beautiful Sunset
I came back after I was asked by one of the participants to add a description to this image.
Description (sorry for my English):
That happened yesterday after I came home from work. After a busy day I decided to rest a little and admire nature, and I saw this wonderful sunset. I remembered @czechglobalhosts the wonderful pictures that posted them and so I participated for the first time. Then began the rain that lasted for several hours. Very quiet and clean!

This photo is from Namibia’s most famous national park, Etosha. I was there in September 2015 and did over 7000 photos. Now I am sharing my best with you here on Steemit.
What to say with this photo? It is typical Africa and that is my goal for African Wednesday.

7000 images? Wow, that is a lot:).....
Of course, we were looking for the big 5 during our safari in Chobe National Park, Botswana. On our gamedrive we found this kudu, beautifully camouflaged in the forest. This kudu was also worth a photo. Despite not seeing the big 5, we still had a great day.
Looks very majestic!
If you plan to visit the Blyde River Canyon you should also consider stops at the nearby waterfalls. Two waterfalls which are almost on the way are the Lisbon Falls and the Berlin Falls (picture above).

The baobab tree - East Africa
What an awesome tree. They are huge, have amazing fruit that all the animals love (including humans) and make a great home to get off the ground. As can be seen from the nearby car, that these are also really really big trees. This photo was taken during the "dry" season as can be seen by the lack of trees. Enjoy!
