My name is Curtis Wilson Cost and I am an artist on the island of Maui. My wife and I moved here in 1973 from Honolulu and I've been painting the island in oil-on-canvas ever since.

A Quiet Moment

We live at 3300 feet on the west slope of Haleakala. It's cold up here, like northern California. It occasionally snows on the top at the 10k' level.

I opened a one-man gallery at the Kula Lodge decades ago and it is now the longest running one-man gallery in the State of Hawaii.

Fireflies

I also thought I would post a video of fireflies taken by an artist friend of mine named Diana Lehr in Pennsylvania. Dianna's caption reads:

"Filmed at dusk on 7/1/2017, when thunderstorms cleared and a mist was rising against the mountains - some of the first fireflies of the season lit up the fields with their magic."
