Tree Tuesday: Real-life Hometree.
Woo! Tree Tuesday again. Check out this monster. I'm not sure what type of tree it was, but it was definitely the largest one we saw while doing a canopy walk in the Monteverde Cloud Forest in Costa Rica.
It's hard to tell from the photos, but this tree was easily around 175ft tall, maybe more. The cool branch and foliage formation really reminded me of "Hometree" from the movie Avatar.
We had quite the view from the sky bridge we were on, and this tree definitely stood out among it's neighbors. It know in this photo it looks like there are some taller trees to the right, but they were on a steep mountain side. The main tree I'm talking about here was actually growing right from the valley floor. It was a behemoth.
