Curie Weekly Update (29th May to 4th June 2017)

in #curation7 years ago (edited)

In spirit of Curie's transparency, we wish to use this weekly section as an ongoing development blog on our project to communicate our progress on top of the many casual exchanges happening in channel #curie.

  • For those new to Curie, please follow @curie, and join us in #curie on Steemit.chat.
  • All curators on Steemit are cordially invited to submit posts to Curie at http://curiesteem.com. A finder's fee of 10 Steem (~$15) is available for each upvoted post. Essentially, Curie enables any curator on Steemit to give an exceptional post a whales' upvote; and in return, you receive a whales' curation reward. All without investing a million dollars :)
  • Follow @curie's votes to support the authors. Please consider following our trail and voting for curated authors. If you are a Streemian user, @curie is an available trail to follow.
  • Remember to follow and interact with authors that you love going through The Daily Curie.

News and announcements

  • Curie continues to participate in the no-whale voting experiment. We are continuing with a limited operational capacity. More than 80% of Curie's votes today is accounted for not by whales but by the 150 minnows and dolphins following our trail. Thank you for your support!

  • Due to our limited operational capacity, new curators now start off with a nominal submission limit of 3 posts per week. This will be expanded for curators performing consistent and quality curation, while low quality curation will lead to lower limits. Existing curators can continue submitting as per their submission limits. More details in #curie at Steemit.chat.

  • @curie's witness and operational nodes are now running v0.19.0rc2, awaiting final release and Hardfork 19.

  • From this week, @curie will start resteeming exceptional posts. We hope you'll support these posts with your comments and votes.

  • Our downscaling is now complete in readiness for the significant voting changes in Hardfork 19.

Weekly Statistics

Over the last week, Project Curie curated a total of 80 posts at an average of 11 posts per day. Due to limited account creations and thus new authors last week, the number of posts curated has declined. However, the account registrations are in full swing now, and we are set to hit our target of 15-20 posts per day this week.

Authors

The top authors recommended by our curators this week are:-

@adaptnetwork
@forty-two
@mattie.b-leaver
@ribalinux

Curators

The Top Curators list will dynamically change every other week depending on performance. Anybody will be able to rise up the ranks with consistent, quality curation. Inconsistent, low-quality curation will result in dropping out of Top curators list(or regular curation, if under-performance continues).

This week, we have upvoted 77 posts submitted by curators in http://curiesteem.com, with 770 STEEM paid out to curators.

At current operations, we require a minimum CS of 5 and AR of 85% to be eligible for unlimited submissions and a CS of 1 to be eligible for 3 submissions/day.

Thanks a huge bunch for all the great work you are making for our platform!

Because of you, this place keeps on on growing and some deserving minnows get not only decent recognition, but we get a better appreciation of the quality that joins our group. All for one and one for all! Namaste :)

Obrigado por nos fornecer essa informação aqui.

You've had a long day.

Thanks I will check out the site and gladly post.

Thanks for providing this information to us.

thank for sharing this :)

Thanks for the update. This info is very useful. If you could clarify something for me, though...

What is "curating" defined as on SteemIt? Is it commenting, upvoting, resteeming, creating posts with lists of other posts that you find valuable and interesting, or all of the above? Also, what does "CS" and "AR" stand for please?

These may sound like dumb questions, but I've always been more of a content creator as opposed to a content curator, so I need to learn a little more about curation.

On Steemit, you can look at curating as searching and discovering quality posts and voting on them or sharing them with the community. Basically, making sure that good posts don't go by unnoticed.

CS is curation score - shows how good that curator was in the previous week. And AR stands for approval rating - what percentage of curator's proposed posts was approved by reviewers and voted on.

Thanks so much for that! I understand it much better now. Followed you BTW.

I love the effort you put into the community. Being fairly new to Steemit and still learning... what is CS and AR stand for?

Curation Score and Approval Rating :)

Thank you that helps.
