Best sub $1 alt coins.
Criteria
In this list, I will be discussing some of the sub-one dollar coins that I feel have a great future.
The criteria for my choices are as follows:
- The coin must be in the top 100 on coinmarketcap
- The coin must have real world applications
- The coin must be easily obtainable, ether through mining or trading
Please note this list is not in any particular order
Ripple
Current price: $0.271693
Market cap: $10,413,009,510
Circulation Supply: 38,326,381,283 XRP
Ripple (XRP) is a great choice for a sub one dollar coin investment. It was created in 2012 by Arthur Britto, David Schwartz and Ryan Fugger. Ripple brings instant decentralised payments with very low fees, even between banks internationally. Aimed at banking institutions, Ripple could well be the future of all banking transactions. Currently, 15 or the top 50 banking institutions work with ripple.
It is clear that blockchain technology will revolutionise modern banking, and Ripple in my opinion stands the best chance for mainstream adoption. One thing is for sure, the more attention Ripple gets from banks, the more and more valuable the coin could be worth.
Bitshares

Current price: $0.349566
Market cap: $909,724,541
Circulation Supply: 2,602,440,000 BTS
BitShares (BTS) has been gaining a lot of attention recently! The BitShares platform is a feature rich platform. BitShares is a decentralized exchange, it is built for fast transactions and is scalable for thousands or transactions per second. With BitShares you can trade a wide variety or assets (called Smartcoins), which are linked to real world assets, such as fiat currencies and commodities like gold and silver. Users can issue their own assets too, meaning individuals could use BitShares to fund a new business venture or company, or allow people to invest in other peoples projects. This could be the future of investing and crowd funding.
Golem

Current price: $0.566922
Market cap: $470,121,202
Circulation Supply: 829,252,000 GNT
Golem (GNT) has a massive ambition: to decentralise the internet. Golem is a global open sourced network of computers. It can be accessed by anybody and is made up by the combined power of the connected computers and datacenters. Golem can be used to power almost any program or website in a low cost, safe and decentralized way. Golem could be more and more prevalent as programs become more and more dependant on the internet to process and store information.
DigiByte

Current price: $0.033674
Market cap: $290,659,834
Circulation Supply: 8,631,708,426 DGB
DigiByte DGB is a decentralized, open sourced , fast and secure payment method with strong links to the gaming industry. DigiByte is being used as a currency for some MineCraft servers and League of Legends, World of Warcraft and Counter Strike payments. These are HUGE titles and to have a cryptocurrency be associated with them is excellent advertisement and increases the demand. It could be that in the future, all Xbox, Playstation and Steam payments will be in DigiByte.
The
GridCoin

Current price: $0.105619
Market cap: $41,224,443
Circulation Supply: 390,312,753 GRC
GridCoin (GRC) could become MASSIVE! GridCoin is an open sourced peer-to-peer computing grid for the purpose of completing scientific research. This could be the future of scientific research because it allows for cheap processing power. According to the GridCoin website, it is being used to help cure cancer, aids ebola and malaria as well as being used to map the milkyway and crack enigma codes. This coin, putting aside the obvious moral benefit, could become a common asset being used for medical and scientific research, a multi billion dollar industry.
Conclusion
So there you have it, I really value what a coin is associated with or the real world applications because I feel like it adds value. Let me know what you feel the best sub one dollar coins are and why you think they will be a success.

Thanks for the infomation. You should include STEEM, Mooncoin and Dogecoin
Out of all of these I feel ripple and bitshares are the most viable. Ripple is actually already being used by banks. Bitshares allows anyone to issue their own asset with assets linked to real world fiat. Golem sounds interesting but I would have to see the direction it goes.
Ripple is most i like.. their professionalism, bitshares the trading platform is so easy to use..
Interesting read.
So in the future, we might be paid to game!! oh god, please don't let me be dreaming. Jokes I don't believe in god; probably a creator though.
This is happening as we speak, I recommend checking out DigiByte Gaming! I haven't tried it out, but to my understanding you can be payed in DigiByte to play League of Legends and other massive games.

This isn't currently the case, they've got a lot of promises and an upcoming decentralized video rendering application but nothing else.
