Hungary will launch a cryptocurrency in March 2018
Korona Development Team presented Korona, the Hungarian cryptocurrency, at a press conference, writes Budapest Business Journal. Its developers claim that the Hungarian cryptocurrency will be different from pseudo-currencies, which are not suitable for real transactions.
The new method of payment will be the cheapest to use for global purchases, developers say. Korona Development Team is headed by Jean-Marc Stiegemeier, former Wall Street financial adviser. The Hungarian cryptocurrency Korona will be launched on March 26 in Switzerland.
And if this is not a sign of mass adoption at the country level I don't know what else it is. Yes, there are countries which still investigate the impact, forbids cryptocurrencies, other regulate it, but what we all know is that they cannot stop it. We all want to use it within legal means if this is offered and supported by the countries, but if not will use it as free people of this universe. We have the power to drive the change, we have the power to write our future by adopting blockchain technologies without the control of governments and super powers.
As a Hungarian, I can't imagine it at all. I afraid it's going to become similar to the cryptoruble, because the current (or actually, in any age) political climate doesn't favor decentralized solutions, let alone a cryptographic money.
Also very few citizens are crypto-aware as I can see, limiting mass adoption.
I'm really interested to see what type of wallet they will give the population to use it ! Because it should be something extremely secure in order to give confidence in it, but a very cool project thanks for talking about it, i'll follow this story :D
