It Affected Me Emotionally After Our Guard Dog Died The Other Day

I am trying not to get emotional because after years of service to us being our guard dog and being effective at it too it died the other day. It is quite a mystery because we do not know its cause of death except it did had a cough for a few months as if something is lodged in its throat.

Then one of its ear got inflamed which I am not able to examine because I couldn't even get up and walk out of my house. Then it stopped eating and of course it died. Now I could not hear any dog around barking one in a while so I am really sad and I was like had lost a family member.

Now I do not want my parents to have another dog because for one thing I feel like they are depriving it with food and I only told them to feed the dog regularly after seeing that it is almost skin and bones already.

We just feed our dog with leftovers but but some of our dogs before lived a healthy and long life because I was the one feeding them. Now what my father does sometimes is that he doesn't give the food to the dog but puts the leftover in the refrigerator. So it is really one of my peeve and I could not do anything because of my physical condition.

Although we need a guard dog I think we can do without it since robbery in this village where I live is not a common occurrence. But of course we cannot be so sure since thieves comes when you least expect them. Of course my parents has the last say and if they would want another guard dog then I could not protest about that but for me I would rather not since it affects me too when a dog gets sick and die in the end without getting treated somehow.
