I can't imagine my life without the Internet

I happen to get introduced to the Internet after my sister-in-law purchased a USB broadband modem and used it with her second-hand archaic PC. The Internet is so new at that time because there aren't smartphones yet, it wasn't even the time of my Nokia is better than Nokia.

Then my sister-in-law bought am IBM laptop, I can't remember the model but it is really slow and operates so hot, even loading a web page gets so slow because of 512 MB of memory, quite an unproductive way for computing but since I am new to the Internet even an unraveling web page gave me happiness and excitement.

My first goal for wanting to be connected to the Internet was to download movies, so I also got involved in local forums to learn about the links and the hacked accounts for download sites. But of course data was so expensive in those days if not slow so I was using a free VPN owned by one of the users in that particular forum which is now gone.

Then I told myself I just have to find a way to earn some money that landed me in point-to-click impossible to earn dodgy sites which I actually never made some money from, pyramid/ponzi schemes which I got scammed from because of my naïve type of mindset.

At that time I already am using my own second-hand PC with a still slow but better specs, just enough for daily internet use. Also using a hacked WiMax internet where it uses a cloned MAC address of some legal WiMAX users, I just have to because the Internet service is so prohibitively expensive and slow in those times.

If you would ask what I money I've used to join such "earning" sites was the money I earned from the writing/blogging site I happened to get myself involved into. From there I was able to earn about 2K dollars or so because at some days I am earning $16 dollars a day and using PayPal as my payment method and from that money too I was able to buy some bitcoins when Bitcoin was only at around $190-$210 dollars.

After that I landed on steemit, hive, and Blurt to earn much more that I could have ever imagined. But of course now that we are in crisis worldwide the earnings though it is from a "house money" went down considerably but indeed still awesome by any standards compared to other people with no means of earning some if they don't work physically or use their skills although I regard myself as hardworking with this kind of informal sector that I am doing, taking the opportunity just to get by.

As for the benefit for my mental well-being the Internet kept me from being so totally bored to death. This is because of keeping my mind occupied by writing my world in this platform
and making me happy because of its reward factor. Also having to watch videos on command is a very good things for my psychological well-being as ell as having to listen to my favorite music.

Those are all not available during when I was a new patient, counting days for my next session because I can only go for dialysis ever five days. Going to church 3 times a week, and then watching TV for the most part of my time, cooking our foods, and doing some gardening too at times. I mean compared to being online with this kind of health situation that I have where I am basically bed-bound, the Internet saved me from becoming a useless bored vegetable and I thank God what had happened to my life from around 2013 up to now, I could say it was all great thanks be to God
