Dear Diary: The Dark Message Of One Of My Favorite Heavy Metal Songs

The song "One" is one of the most popular songs of Metalllica that tells a story of a young soldier who went into a battle and got hurt by a landmine or an exploding shell thereby making him a quadruple amputee. Not only that, the bomb or landmine also took off most of his face off including his vision and hearing.

So after waking up he learned about his demise and started to communicate and telling the outside world to kill him by mans of a Morse code by bobbing his head back and forth. The military learned about his message but refuses to obey his will so he was just kept inside the hospital living just like a vegetable, conscious but unable to do something about his condition.

It is one of the most horrific things that could happen to anyone and I think I would associate it to those that had a stroke, paralyzing them but they are still conscious but had lived for so many years after just like what happened to one of my relatives.

I could also associate it to my life but at least I can still move and speak but with limitation but it doesn't mean that my life is okay because of the gravity of my health condition as it had gotten more complicated and only God himself could make a difference to it. Maybe not a sad story afterall because I believe in the afterlife, in heaven where all of these things I will soon forget.
