My red blood cells are tested to be quite low recently and it is just good that I can have a free EPO injection from the government charity assistance program which is sourcing their funds from the different kinds of lottery they run to sustain mainly the common people's medical needs like in my case, needing a very expensive hormone replacement therapy just to raise my body's red blood cell count.

An EPO (Erythropeitin) is a hormone which in the body is produced by the kidneys when the body's oxygen level gets low it tells the bone marrow to produce red blood cells so that if red blood cells would raise up it will carry oxygen for the cells of the body to use and thus it will make the body energized in general.

In dialysis patients their kidney do not work anymore so it in turn doesn't produce Erythropeitin (EPO) hormone anymore so they lose blood without it getting replaced so they either needed to have a blood transfusion or get an expensive medicine to get injected twice or three times a week which is an EPO injection so that they would not needed a risky blood transfusion anymore.

Thankfully the government has a program that enables a dialysis patient particularly to get this kind of assistance and it is a great help together with my government health insurance it allowed me to have a little eased in my expenses unlike in recent years that I wasn't using anything but my own pockets but now I just thank God for this kind of support that I get.
