Dear Diary: My Email Was Answered Today Regarding The Strong Chlorine In My Tap Water Supply

Last June 23rd I emailed the general manager of our tap water supply because I wanted to complain about the unusual strong concentration of chlorine which is really smelly and I can taste it when I clean my mouth. It just makes you gag when you put the water in your mouth.

It is not really good so my parents decided to use the purified water that we are buying separate as our source of drinking water for washing our rice and for cooking basically and for the water for boiling to be used for coffee.

Now we will be consuming that purified water faster because of our cooking and rice washing needs.

Not a good news until they had taken an action about my complaint. But I am just looking forward that it will get a resolution soon. Apparently our water supply is not originating now from our local water district but from other source so that is the situation.

Here is the complete letter of response down below;

Dear Mr. Martin:

Good day!

First of all, we apologize for the service inconvenience we caused you.

Regarding your concern on strong concentration of chlorine, please be informed that based on the report being monitored by this office, the chlorine residual from the pipeline in your area is at 0.60ppm on the average. It is within the parameters of 0.3 - 1.5 ppm set by the Philippine National Standards for Drinking Water (PNSDW). This means that if chlorine residual from the tap of the consumer is within the said parameter, the water is safe from any contaminants and it is safe to drink. Nevertheless, rest assured that this office will coordinate your concern with our Bulacan bulk water supplier for a possible little reduction of concentration.

Please be informed also that since June 19, 2019, the supply of water to Metro San Marcos (including Balite) is already source from the Bulacan Bulk Water Supply Project (BBWSP). It was energized on June 18, 2019 @ around 3:00 pm.

Thank you and God bless!

GM Ronnie.

Now is just the waiting time for them to take action because the water I think is for swimming pool quality and not for drinking purposes so I just have to email them we do not want our intestines get bleached by the chlorine, no wonder the coffee tastes yuck lately.

Sort:

I've been thinking about buying a nice water filter for quite some time but I keep dumping all my money into crypto.

Fortunately, even the most basic of carbon filters will get rid chlorine.

It's the garbage like fluoride that takes a bit more effort to remove.

It is really terrible @edicted, we cannot even use it for our rice and food preparations. So I just emailed them and I am yet to see what will happen.

And thanks for the tip :D
Very much appreciated.

Im going to send you 5 SBD because I want to 😁

God Bless you @joordanzzz
You are kind-hearted like your Mom :)
I appreciate your support with all my heart, thank you.

It's shocking the muncipil townships here in Australia water supply are high in fluoride and I believe this is much worse than the chlorine but still. Do you have fluoride in water where you are? Only way to beat your Gov is so an independent water test send a test sample to nearby independent lab. And like you presume much higher levels of chlorine!?! You could prove in court and take legal action with your findings.
