Dear Diary: I Enjoyed My Peculiar Vegetable Meal The Other Day

My mother had bought and prepared a vegetable dish the other day and it was a vegetable that is called in our language a "Himbabao" which is a long caterpillar-like flower of the tree of the same name.

It has no taste really but its texture resembles of that like an Okra because it is quite slimy or glutinous which makes it delicious even though you would cook it in a simple way like my mother did with this dish where she just made a soup out of it with some pumpkin, tomatoes, and kidney bean.

It is good to eat paired with rice but I like it to be incorporated in a mungbean soup with smoked fish which my mother doesn't cook at all considering that it is just easy to do.
