Dear Diary: I Am Happy Today Because It Is My Dialysis

What is dialysis? Dialysis is a procedure where a dialysis machine cleans the blood of Kidney patients which have a non-working Kidneys plus extra water from their bodies are also taken out. When the kidneys are not working the toxins in the body accumulates as well as the fluids that the patient ingests from water or other fluids they drink as well from foods they eat.

If the patient doesn't undergo a dialysis they would suffer from edema, the accumulation of water in the body and subsequently they would get fluids in their lungs which will make them drown with their own excessive body fluids and they will die.

Also if the patient doesn't undergo dialysis they will get poisoned by the toxins that slowly accumulates in their bodies which will make them feel so nauseated until they vomit even though there is no more food in their stomachs. They would also get mentally ill and would manifest in the way they talk and think.

Why do that happen? It is because we excrete extra water from our bodies with the help of our kidneys and if the kidneys fails there will be no more organ to excrete extra water so it accumulates in the body.

Dialysis takes away extra fluids from the body as well as cleans it making the patient feel well again after dialysis. But sometimes the dialysis is not adequate enough or would give you a better well-being based on the quality of treatment you get from the dialysis center that you are going into for your dialysis because some centers give you a mediocre treatment.

But generally patients feels much better after dialysis because their blood is somewhat cleaned-out and their extra water taken out by the dialysis treatment.
