Dear Diary: I Am Happy That The Government Will Tax Alcohol And Tobacco Products Much More

I am happy now that the current government will increase tax on alcohol and tobacco products here in my country and the proceeds will fund the Universal Health Care for all the citizens. I guess that it might be a good way to give me more dialysis sessions because I am a recipient of my government's health insurance.

The added excise tax aims to discourage younger individuals and long-time users alike to start the destructive vice especially the smoking because the second killer in this country next to heart disease is the lung disease.

My dialysis allocation is 90 sessions per year and it is not sufficient enough because for my case I needed three times per week and if I would use my allocation for that frequency I will have to pay the next four months out of pocket.

Now I just scrimping on dialysis sessions so I am going with only twice a week dialysis. Now if the government would get to pass the law for taxing the alcohol and tobacco more and I know that they will, I might get an enhanced healthcare for me regarding the additional allocation of my dialysis sessions.

Many people are frowning on taxes but this tax aims for the betterment of the lives of the people because not only it discourages people to start doing vices and stop it too but it also gives the people more healthcare via the affordable health insurance of the government. Plus it gives me a chance to improve my dialysis if more funds could be collected with the extra excise tax.
