What is Bitcoin BIP91 activation?

It looks like some Miners are signaling for the BIP91 implementation, but until the final lock-in we have to live with the uncertainty and BTC price swings.

So what does BIP91 mean? It is a compromise between the Bitcoin development and mining communities.

The activation of  BIP91 will lead to the optimization of Bitcoin blocks by around 75 percent and way less transaction fees for users. On top of that, SegWit's BIP91 will update security measures for hardware wallets and enable two-layer solutions such as Lightning while Bitcoin providers and development companies are already working around Lightning.

So for the day-to-day users this would be the best solution because we'll keep one Bitcoin and they don't need to worry about where to store the Bitcoin.
