It is NOT what happens to us, but rather how we CHOOSE to RESPOND to what happens that ultimately determines our success or failures. There is no better example than that of Fred Luddy. At age 50, he lost his job and his $35 million fortune, when the company he worked for was charged with fraud and the shares in his company became worthless overnight.
Instead of getting depressed and blaming his bad luck (like most losers do), Fred decided to start from scratch. He started his own company called ServiceNow. For the next 14 years, he would make ServiceNow the most innovative company in America with 6,000 employees and a revenue of US$1.9 billion. He has since grown his personal fortune to $1.1 Billion.
