Augur is a betting site on events that take place in the real world.

You can bet on the winner of elections, on a sports competition, on the results of the Oscars ... Each bet is a market on which you buy (with ether) shares (YES Shares, NO shares ...). These REPs (for reputation) are the unity of the cryptomonnaie that interests us (we finally get there!). This currency encourages reporters to validate the outcome of events without lying since owning 1 REP allows you to receive 1 / 22,000,000 of the total transaction costs. Reporters who lie are removed from their PWRs, redistributed to honest reporters.

Then, like a conventional cryptomonnaie, the REP can be bought and sold on the known platforms (Poloniex, Kraken ...).
