Hey guys! I was planning to post an article soon so I decided to check SmartSteem to see how big the current upvotes were, and to my surprise they were massive!

Without even really thinking about it, I took this opportunity to promote my last post which is already in trending a bit higher up, and my post before that back into trending.

I then waited a few minutes and still had not received the votes. I was a little confused at first as the votes are fairly instantaneous but today they had taken over 10 minutes! So, I decided to explore their Discord.

Down for potentially over 7 hours

I found that many users had complained that they have not been receiving their votes, including one user who complained over 5 hours ago that he had not received his upvotes for over 2 hours, indicating the bot has been down for at least seven hours!

Not to worry though!

Although I'm not worried my money is gone since SmartSteem is a very reputable organisation here on Steemit ran by a very reputable Steemian, @therealwolf, this post is just to warn those out there who may be thinking about promoting their posts, to wait a bit.

If you have already sent some Steem and now you're just waiting for your upvotes, there isn't really an ETA on when the bot will be back up so I guess just sit tight until there's some sort of official announcement! I'm currently 400 Steem down LOL

Compensation

I'm hoping for some sort of reimbursement greater than my initial 400 Steem, since now I have to wait until that Steem is back before I can post my next post! Perhaps something like extra ROI for affected users or just overall increased ROI could be nice! Or, perhaps reduce commission to 0% for a few week or so and split the profit half way between buyers and sellers, I'm sure this will make the community happy.

I'm sure @therealwolf will figure something out though!

• Apparently it's been fixed! Still waiting for my votes or 400 Steem refund!
• All good now, first 200 Steem back and the next 200 Steem should be coming back any time now!
