Reporting a mistake to google ...
It was nothing about their programming. This morning I noticed the google ‘doodle’ was about Gerda Taro, a famous photographer.
I clicked on it to learn more about the topic (as I always do) and there it was…
Can you see it ? Well, I did straightaway.
I clicked on Fred Stein of course...
I clicked on the feedback word under the photo and reported the mistake to google. You get a box and have to write where it says 'optional':
I briefly explained the problem.
Clearly Fred Stein took pictures of Einstein; his most famous photo was used as a cover in a book. For the record go over to Fred Stein’s website to learn more and see what he looked like - I did.
Will I get feedback from google, yes, likely about the photos I used above... but I just needed to highlight that 'even google makes mistakes'. I use google everyday for my searches, but I'm always careful.
all photos from google used just to illustrate my points
Such an AESTETIC shot
The many lives of Albert Einstein all this time and I did not know he also went by the name Fred Stein! Good spotting :)
That's what crossed my mind... I knew he was clever, but too recognisable for sure, @gmatthe2
Well spotted @cryptocariad. I will interested to hear if Google get back to you or not. 😁
You don't have to fill in your name anywhere, so I am also interested to see how long it takes them
to track me down @gillianpearce
I'd be surprised if they bothered @cryptocariad. 😁
Great job!
We all say to “Google it” so we won’t have to answer questions and things, but sometimes Google isn’t right. We do need to be cautious for sure. Thanks for this post! 😉
Thanks and exactly @mrscwin - we still need to be alert on how they manage all our information and shared history ...
Google does make mistakes and unfortunately propagates them quickly to the ends of the earth. We have a store location that mapped wrong on google when we first bought the store. It took much longer to correct it than I would have liked!
That's right; it's the propagation of mistakes that's concerning to me @steven-patrick - I'm sure there's no real apology eventually either...

Thank you @steemitboard :D
Oh wow.... It is a very glaring mistake isn't it? Good that you caught it and reported it @cryptocariad! Has Google come back to you? It is a good reminder to always be alert and check the info that we read. Yes, Fred Stein took photos of the great Albert Einstein, but his name shouldn't be showing Albert Einstein's photo.
Thank you @marblely ! I don't think they will come back, but every so often I will check to see whether they've corrected it :D
