THE TROUBLEMAKER
We have had these types of characters throughout history , the ones who seem unbalanced and power hungry. These types will do anything to make a name for themselves in order to grab power.
A brief back ground on this one before we move on to the story itself. He was the ANC youth league leader which held some power and clout. He basically got to big for his boots ,over stepping the boundary on numerous occasions and finally got kicked out of the party. He then started his own party called the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) and has quite a large following especially from the unemployed and uneducated. He loves causing chaos and has been thrown out of "parliament" for disrupting proceedings. His party don't wear suits, but orange overalls and gum boots (wellington boots like Paddington bear). To top it off they wear a red beret giving them a military look which makes them stand out.
Maleema was the one who first started raising the questions regarding the "land grab" issues. His friend is no other than Robert Mugabe or uncle Bob. Where do you think he got some of his crazy ideas? He is no genius by any means but what makes him dangerous is he is unpredictable and as easy as his ideas are to see through you have no idea what is next on his agenda.
At a recent rally for his supporters he fired an AK 47 above the crowd and because it was filmed is now under investigation of having fired a stolen or unlicensed weapon. Who and especially a leader thinks it's alright to do this sort of thing. He will get away with this as a misdemeanor and will probably receive a warning.
Next month he goes to court for inciting "land grabs". The national Director of public Prosecutions has stated that Maleema has violated his right to free speech as he is causing incitement. MR Abrahams has stated that Maleema sees the inadequacies of the government elect regarding land distribution as a justification of telling his supporters to "land grab and his words "by any means necessary". After every rally he is seen singing with his supporters "shoot the boer, kill the farmer". This is the song being sung in the photo below.
He is still a Member of Parliament and like the most of the others has been up on corruption charges. It seems he needs to be paid to be kept quiet as he disappears from time to time but always comes back for more.We are all praying that Cyril Ramaphosa can get a grip on the country and turn the mass hatred around led by this nut case. The worst case scenario for everyone in the country if he has a great election and becomes President. If this materializes as we know how elections can go these days then we will have a new dictator in Africa.
Jesus this guy means business! Do you think South Africa is past the point where peace is could be sacrificed. In Ireland there was pretty much war up the north but since the good Friday agreement people have turned the corner. They hate each other still but they learnt to get on. Sorry for the crap upvote tonight. Should be back up in a couple of days
I honestly don't know as he is hard to read. He is simple but devious. Once you hear his plans or thoughts then you can work the angle. I don't know but we know he hates white people and is greedy and loves power so is dangerous in my book. Don't worry about the vote as we are all in the same boat.
It seems very strongly that the whole of Africa is mired in tribalism with none of the tribes caring much for building anything with the other tribes or letting go of tribalism in the first place. Tribalism is all about blood ties and blood ties have a genetic basis as a firm foundation on which to build (reciprocal) altruism. It is the base level of trust and co-operation.
However, what I'm thinking is to what extent could trustless consensus through blockchain technonology render unnecessary the high levels of trust and co-operation typical of Western Europe and countries colonized by the peoples of Western Europe. Such high levels of trust would be necessary for African countries to function well and to prosper. Digitalization with cheap ubiquitous smartphones is a fact in Africa, too. Could enforcement of honesty through distributed cryptographic ledgers instead of corruptible human institutions be the savior Africa desperately needs?
The whole thing is about underlying greed. The easy way and the leaders are the ones who benefit. He wants power to steal whatever Zuma left. Unfortunately the entire continent is ravaged by corruption and greed. One country stands out and that is Botswana. The rest of the world dishing out foreign aid has made them greedy and they honestly don't care about their people. the foreign aid gets diluted so much with corruption it rarely reaches the people that need it most. I can remember they found food destined for Ethiopia during their famine in Cape Town.
Greed yes but do you think Europeans in Europe or in diaspora are immune to that? They have greed and lust for power in their hearts, rest assured. But something is keeping them more honest.
Corruption is nothing out of the ordinary in the world. There are a handful of countries in the entire world that are not completely corrupt. A lack of corruption is a miracle that requires an explanation. It seems game theoretically totally implausible. Humans are short-sighted and selfish maximizers of their own benefit. That's always the safest assumption to make. WHY THE FUCK are Western Europe or Western European colonies not wallowing in this same shit to the extent everybody else is?
It is no longer enough to keep stating the problem again and again. Because we've seen that trust is impossible and no large-scale co-operation can succeed in most of the world the solution will have to be trustless. No humans can be trusted to enforce honesty and uphold laws in the whole of Africa or Latin America or most of Asia. Enter the blockchain. Ignore centralized power structures to extent possible and engage in peer-to-peer networking where honesty is enforced by the protocols used.
Hi markku. Good points here. I think the Western countries do have corruption like you say but there are some morals that they stand by. In Africa they will let people die in order to get their riches. WE have people being murdered daily for a phone or for negligible amounts of money. The car jacking that goes on they get paid peanuts to do it yet they still do.It is sad to see that virtually every country has some serious issues and a lot of it is lack of education and ignorance.
The African state of affairs is the normal and expected one and requires no explanation.
I think there are many depths of causative factors to why Western Europe is better. You mentioned education and (implied) lack of ignorance. My list is the following:
Protestant churches have had people learn to read and study the Bible for five centuries. The Bible used to be a very important source of moral guidance. Also, in Protestant churches there have always been sermons in the language of the local population. People have been forced to listen to them for centuries on Sundays. The church enjoyed a high status in society.
Decentralization of power. The rise of the bourgeois and the cities led to the rise of a powerful middle class. Division of labour became more complex and sophisticated. More centers of power. Rule of law was evolved as a dispute resolution method.
Low and flat social pyramids particularly in the sparsely populated north of Europe. No strict divisions into heritable social casts like in the densely populated early urban civilizations of Asia or Egypt.
Those are some factors that might explain it.
Could be right but it doesn't explain in this day and age I have guys working for me that can't read and write. How can a society improve if the masses can't communicate properly. I have some Zimbabweans and Mozambicans working with me and they are on a different level when it comes to education. Dictatorships and poor governance is an issue as they don't really want an educated following as they see it as a threat.
Russia has high literacy and high corruption, too. Corruption is a moral and legal problem.
The moral backbone of society is built over a long period of time. People can have forgotten about religion but centuries of religious indoctrination create habits that continue to be passed down from one generation from another.
Well, he is one of many criminals in our parliament that is sadly funded by people in the first world I would have hoped had more brains, but not. This guy is a race hater of format and if given enough power will cause a war that will verbatrate into eternity. I just can't find anything nice to say about this guy, his ilk or the president who allows him to behave this way and who doesn't behave much better really. Not that I think any more of the international human rights council who sits idly by and let this rubbish continue unchecked!
You can use the correct word: parasites.
And stupid people are happy to support this madness, because they think, "these are our parasites, they dont hurt us."
They don't know any better and hope they will benefit along the way. If someone is offering you something and you have nothing you will support them.
No. They know, any is better than this. Just not choose other solution. 10 thousand years of human history... And they arent learned nothing.
This stuff, this is the mass-manipulation, and they doing, because its convenient and easy, and dont need accept the self-responsibility.
