To be honest :) it's up to people to continue using Facebook services or their Cryptocurrency. I see this as a good thing (for now) due the fact that people are going to take Cryptocurrencies and fundamental technology behind it more serious now. However, people should be paying attention to Steem or Bitcoin, and not in centralized services like this. I don't trust Facebook with my data. I'm glad I somewhat have stop using the platform for almost a year now. Our focus should be on decentralization, Facebook wants the spotlight for themselves
Oh I agree Facebook wants the spotlight firmly on them. I just don't think people see the benefit of decentralisation just yet. They have been hooked on free and cheap services that you invested a lot of time in and don't want to give up easily and you pay for it with your data and selling your page views to the highest bidder.
Businesses like these will be around as long as the majority of people feel they are happy to trade their data for free access to services.
