EDIT: BAT sold out within seconds, bots were setup to get in and they got in. Less than 200 participants in the ICO. Profits in crypto are being dumped into every major ICO that launches now. This is a big deal because it tells us the value of ETH which many ICO's will launch on top of. This makes ETH very valuable.

BASIC ATTENTION TOKEN

This ICO launches in just a few minutes. In the past, my viewers have asked my thoughts on it. After researching it and basing my experience on other reputable ICO's in the last 6 months, I would say it is a pretty "safe ICO". The project just needs to launch their browser successfully to be a solid ICO.

Many people have argued that the BAT model will not revolutionize the advertising industry. I believe they are correct. Displacing Google is difficult and this sort of mechanism, while innovative, probably will not accomplish the job.

Yet for an ICO to be a good investment / trade, none of this matters. In investing / trading, we want to know about buying low and selling high while keeping time frames in mind. Trades are usually short-term, investments are months to years. Facts such as whether BAT will beat out Google matter only to the point they serve our analysis on price movement. There are many 'investable' things in the world which may not earn you a dime, and there are many cheesy ripoffs which can make people rich. Facts concerning business model are important, but there is a lot more to an ICO in terms of making money, than how the project will be doing 5 years from now in a war against Google.

The model for a good ICO in the cryptocurrency world is this:

• Do they complete the project?
  --- If the answer is YES: Then this ICO will make you money, if you simply sell at the date their software product launches, or shortly there after as the launch feeds itself through the market place and generates attention.
  --- If the answer is NO: Then this ICO will probably lose you money.

To this question of whether they will launch their BRAVE browser, I believe the guy behind this project is reputable enough to just take at face value that he will do what he says. He created JavaScript and the NetScape browser. Enough said.

So we buy at a cheap ICO price if we want. Then within 12 months, he likely launches the initial browser. The price of the token soars and we can sell at that point if we wish. If the browser is truly amazing (better than Chrome) then people could even maybe hold on past that. If the browser is total junk, it wont matter, the ICO would still make money and we would have a solid exit point.

People are overthinking this BAT thing. Has anyone seen an ICO depreciate from the ICO phase, when they have launched their main platform release? I have not heard about any instances.
