REVIEW : 4 new upvote bots launched by minnowhelper

in #bots6 years ago (edited)

I think it was yesterday when minnowhelper launched 4 new upvote bots. As I'm really curious about all economic related things on Steemit I decided to test those new micro upvote bots.

It works just like the other upvoting bots. This one has voting round of 14 minutes and minimum bid is 0.001 sbd.

I send 0.001 sbd to each bot (@minnowhelper-1 and so on). I received the maximum upvote power from all bots and My post ended up with 0.02 SBD and 0.01 steem as value. My post already had a little upvote. So it looks like the return is about 0.02 SBD in I take curation into account.

If you don't get the maximum upvote power from these bots....

That makes me think that the owner of these bots will earn a maximum of 0.01 SBD per 14 minutes. So he will earn less than 1 SBD per 24 hours.
If I spend about 1 minute to do this trick and repeat it 50 times a day, I would earn approx. 1 SBD. That's really nothing. And I did not consider the fact that I need to write 50 posts 🤔🤐

So I'm really clueless why people start these paid micro upvote bots? As well as why people would use them?

anyone to help me out on this one and has a brilliant idea about the why?

Smartsteem is definitely the best my friend. Feel free to check it out if you haven't done this yet: https://smartsteem.com?r=maxdigi

Best upvote bot on the entire market in my opinion

Why do you think @smartsteem is the best? I thought it's just one of the many upvote bots with every 2.4 hours a voting round. And it is listed at steemitbottracker.
I didn't try this one myself so I could have missed something?

Personally I like the concept of @smartmarket. Do you know that one?

Hey Crypto economist, sorry for my late answer, I haven't been very active lately and yes I know smartmarket it is actually a part of the services that Smartsteem provides. I like smartsteem/smartmarket because it will give you a guaranteed profitable upvote and you can choose what amount you are willing to invest; for that amount you will not receive 1 vote, no, you will receive multiple upvotes of which the value corresponds with your investment.

Awesome service and I haven't even spoken about the possibility of selling your own upvotes... :) Smartsteem is absolutely the number 1 imo

No problem for replying late. I didn't know smartsteem also guarantees profitable upvote. I will read their message a bit later today.

I do know the bot code has been adjusted. Which allows bot owners to limit the bids to a maximum. But I still have to see how this works out.

view vote bots as "advertisement" trying profit off them can go sideways very fast. Last week someone got a cough being a major plagiarist. The guy upvotes his posts and notices he could make a profit so he keeps bringing buying and sending in more and more SBD. When he got caught upvoting his stolen content into the higher end of thousands in value he got downvoted. Instead of making a few hundred he lost a few thousand.

As far as why start the micro accounts? Well that small sound like someone is just testing things out. Not to mention people often don’t read things so they overspend and not all the places out there send back your money if you mess up. People are dumb enough to just toss 2 SBD at a certain people in hopes of getting an upvote. Not to mention some of the more “community” created ones out there reinvest the SBD they make into buying delegation so they can give out even bigger upvotes the following week.

Buying upvote is a tricky thing. You could profit from it but I think that silly way to go. Using them outside of “advertisement” in trying to get your blog more attention and more upvotes is a bit silly. Even more so if its junk and people find out and downvote it. Most people need further upvotes they are hoping to get by spending to break even or make a profit.

Not to mention if you are spamming tons of tinny little votes to your post that drive downs the curation regard for bigger accounts if they see your stuff and think it’s undervalued they tend to just move on if there been to many votes already. They expect to get a little something back in return or their $10 or bigger upvote. They don’t want reward certain actions.

I’ve seen people spend hundreds of dollars’ worth of SBD and they sometimes lost big.

Also if you are buying votes let’s say making your posts 7$ each which a lot of people do. That is also around the amount that many communities that vote on undervalued content will skip over your blog if its already making that kind of money.

There are people out there on the hunt for undervalued and low success accounts. Their upvotes can carry from $10, $30, $100 or even more. They don’t tend to support content that always doing “well” even if they had to buy upvotes to give that impression. Once you factor out the cost of buying those where they might only be near even its even a worse deal than just getting devised by one of these groups.
The Majority of my SP is not from me daily grinding or putting out 5 blogs a week and them earning a dollar or two each. It’s one of them getting a massive upvote on it.

If you start spamming gout 50 post day well you are just spam and spam gets reported to accounts that go out and downvote it. Not only do some of the bigger buy upvote bots have a blacklist themselves but there are also groups of people going around downvoting what they think is “abusive” reward earning.

My advice if you are new is work on creating content. Go out and comment a lot to find new people. In a couple of months from now if you feel your content is dent and you want to start spending money on “advertisement” that then is going be the best time. As it becomes harder to get an upvote from a community that focuses on helping out new p-people as you have now been around.

Thanks for your comprehensive reply. After reading I even wonder if steemit would not be better without any upvoting bot?

I think that a side affect is also that there are much more votes. Which results in a lower value per vote. Which makes it more difficult to really reward quality content.

Vote buying and selling SP via delegation are two ways for investors to make money without having to upvote themselves or having to deal with curation rewards.

While I'm not a fan of it. I think its a bit funny even more so when you see people send over 200$ on some things and you could tell they took only minutes to write. They are here to stay.

I wrote this in my other comment but figure'd I share it here to:

In my eyes, the advantage of micro bots is they have a lot less people bidding on them and they have lower minimum bid requirements. For someone that has no money to spare and is just getting started on Steemit, they may be able to help get that tiny little ball rolling and get the snowball effect going.

Having that one extra upvote, a little bit of earnings, and a comment on a minnow's post may be enough to get a potential reader to click in!
