Saugatuck South Loop Hike
So as it usually goes in my house hold we woke up and decided to make a two hour drive to take the dogs for a walk. This time we ended up in Saugatuck Michigan. It’s in the west side of the state right along Lake Michigan. We opted for a 6 mile hike in Saugatuck state park. The south loop had good reviews so we gave it a try. We spent about 60% of the hike in old growth forests with loads of beautiful leafs. The remaining portion of the home was on the beaches of Lake Michigan and the surrounding sand dunes.
The weather was perfect in the woods it was slightly warmer as you are protected from the winds coming off the lake. Even though the beaches were cooler they still were beautiful.
We thought our puppy Bo would be tried, but as you can see he was running like crazy enjoying the beach. Overall, this was a great trail. The sand dunes were definitely a workout in hiking boots, but burning the extra calories allowed me to grab an extra beer at the local brewery.

Awesome shots. Looks like it was a really nice hike for you! We are heading to Manistee within the next week. Hopefully the snow will hold off for a little bit! I can't remember if I have ever been to Saugatuck. If I have it was when I was a kid. Always great to see people sharing shots of our great state!
We love Maninstee. It’s our go to fishing spot.

Very cool! My buddy and I try to get to Cadillac at least once a year to get some fishing done. We used to go to a spot near Baldwin, but I haven't been there in forever.
