Mars

Mars (the bringer of war) by Bells Brewery. Inspired by the symphony written by composer Gustav Holst. Mars is a Double IPA with an intense hop profile and malty backbone. The hop flavor and aroma is complex, with notes of tropical fruit, pine, and citrus. A generous addition of Munich malt gives Mars it's toasty, deep malt character.

As you can see this beer pours a golden amber to light red with a dense cream colored head that lingers.

The taste is beautifully crafted with strong hops sustained throughout the whole taste with some citrus which then moves into some of the sweeter caramel malt notes in the middle. This beer finishes hoppy, boozy and with a little spice. It’s not note trying to be something it’s not, this is a true DIPA.

I’ve loved the planet series by Bells. Mars was my favorite plus it’s the only one I have left. I’m hoping they bring the whole series back.
